Adrian Drew - About the Author


Adrian Drew is the pen name of a senior figure in the media industries, who has been acknowledged for his work in corporate social responsibility, sustainable development and social inclusion, for which, in 2008, together with Sir David Frost, Sir Richard Attenborough and Sir Bob Geldof, he received, at the House of Lords, an International Fellowship for his contribution to ethical communications.

Drew, who is currently the Chair of a new training and broadcast initiative for people from under-represented groups, is also; a television and radio producer, magazine columnist, the presenter of a range of arts programmes and the writer of books on film and theatre.

He is the founder of The Cokesford Company, a professional theatrical group designed to showcase new writing and talent, and has written nine plays including; Welsh Dylan, Autumn Dream, Acting Apart, Love, Lust and Longing, Deck the Halls, The Emerald of the Snows (a Sherlock Homes pastiche) and several adaptations of classic short stories. All have been produced in England and one in the United States.

His plays, Meeting Mark – Or 33 Encounters in Two Acts and A Wilde Affair about the author Oscar Wilde and All Hallows – A play about Fear – were all premiered, to sell-out success, at the Orangery in Greenwich.

Drew is currently working on a screen adaptation of You Bring Me Joy A Play About Love, and completing both Ellen (a play about the actor Ellen Terry), and Live Oak with Moss – about an episode in the life of the poet Walt Whitman, all scheduled for 2012.
